Susanna HurrellSusanna Hurrell – Soprano

Susanna was born in London and studied at the Royal College of Music and the National Opera Studio. During her studies she was the winner of the RCM English song prize, the Peter Hulsen Orchestral song Award, the John Kerr English song competition and a Miriam Licette scholarship for French song. She also performed many operatic roles including Papagena The Magic Flute, Rodelinda Rodelinda, Euridice Orpheus in the Underworld, Serpetta La finta giardiniera and Patience Patience.

Notable engagements include Haydn’s Nelson Mass at the Oxford Sheldonian with Andras Schiff, Faure’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with the OAE at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, and operatic hits with the BBC Symphony Orchestra for the Proms out and about series. In 2013 Susanna looks forward to performing Rose Maurrant in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene with The Opera Group at the Chatelet, Paris, and at the Liceu, Barcelona.
