2015 Singing Competition

2015 Festival Singing Competition

Saturday, June 27, 10.00am, Chadlington Church

Tickets – Free

Many outstanding singers have performed at the Festival over the years including Amanda Roocroft (soprano), Neil Davis (baritone), Nuccia Focile (soprano), Linda Richardson (soprano), Jonathan Veira (bass-baritone) and our very own Claire Bradshaw (soprano) and Richard Coxon (tenor). Vocal music is a core passion and central to much of the Festival programming. This year we will further our commitment to the art of singing with our Fourth Annual Competition open to young singers between the ages of 18 and 28.

It is difficult to imagine a singer who inspires greater affection and admiration than mezzo-soprano Ann Murray DBE and we are especially pleased to welcome Ann to the panel as our Guest Adjudicator this year. Born in Dublin, Ann studied with Frederic Cox at the Royal Manchester College of Music and has since delighted audiences across the world in concert, recital, and operatic roles. Her most recent recording of Brahms & Schumann Lieder was released by Linn Records in February.
