Peter Chadlington, Festival Patron

Our Patron, Lord Chadlington of Dean

Lord Chadlington read the Moral Science Tripos at Selwyn College, Cambridge. After a period in journalism, he founded Shandwick in 1974, which after listing in 1984, became the largest PR firm in the world. It was sold to the US communications conglomerate, InterPublic Group (IPG) in 1998.

Lord Chadlington has served as a non-executive director on a number of Boards including HBOS, Britax and Tempus. He has also been active in the arts as a member of the Arts Council, Chairman of the Royal Opera House and was the first Chairman of the Lottery Distribution arm of the Arts Council of England. He is also involved in a wide range of charities and benevolent organisations.
