The Junior Conservatoire provides specialist training in the heart of Birmingham for some of the region’s most talented young musicians. Courses are offered in both jazz and classical music. The teaching take place on Saturdays during school term-time made up of a combination of individual lessons, chamber music, ensemble work, and classes in theory and aural. Orchestras and larger ensembles meet in the afternoon. Performance is central to all courses and students appear regularly both in the Conservatoire’s own halls and in venues around the city. Our alumni can be found in all of the British conservatoires.
